About Heidi

Full Bio:

Heidi splits her time among the lush green forests of Oregon, the sunny Arizona desert, and the packed aisles of a bookstore. (Have you seen Powell’s City of Books?) When she’s not reading a story, she is usually creating one. Inspiration is everywhere. It doesn’t matter if she’s hiking, biking or taking nature photos, Heidi can always find a seed for a story.

 

Her husband and children come in a close second to books. (Okay, perhaps it’s more of a tie… but let’s not tell them that.)

 

Heidi received her BFA from The Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University, and graduated from Mira Reisberg’s Children’s Book Academy. She is an active member of SCBWI, and Julie Hedlund’s 12x12 Picture Book Challenge

Short Bio:

Heidi Yates is an author, illustrator and nature photographer from the home of the sasquatch (Pacific Northwest). Heidi loves Halloween, mythical creatures, and creating spine-tingling stories. Monster Manners A to Z is her "dé-boo" picture book.
